Impact evaluation the team can run themselves

Turning a week of manual survey analysis into an automated process that takes less than an hour.

to analyse survey data, down from over a week
Under 1 hour

The challenge

  • Slow analysis

The organisation was collecting valuable survey data, but it took over a week to produce insights.

  • Manual and prone to error

Processing was done by hand, which made it slow and prone to error.

  • Hard to check

There was no record of how figures had been produced, so findings were hard to check.

  • Mixed experience

The team had mixed levels of technical and analytical experience, which made a consistent approach difficult.

What we built

  2. Structured dataNumbers and stories
  3. Automated analysis
  4. ResultsIn less than an hour

What we did

  1. Review

Went through the whole process, from data collection to reporting, and identified where time was being lost.

  2. Improve the survey

Advised on survey design so the data was meaningful for evaluation and easy for respondents to complete.

  3. Automate

Built an automated analysis set-up that supports both quantitative trend analysis and qualitative storytelling.

  4. Train

Wrote training documentation and recorded video tutorials so everyone could use it, whatever their starting point.

What changed

  • From a week to an hour

Analysis that took over a week now takes less than an hour.

  • A repeatable workflow

Results are quicker and more accurate.

  • Time to interpret

Staff spend their time interpreting results and deciding what to do, not processing data.

  • Clear guidance

The team has clear guidance on data collection for future evaluations.

"Priscilla has supported us with quantitative evaluation and analytics in a strategic, but very efficient way. She has taken the time to get to know our organisation and as well as being a super smart data person, she has also developed tools and resources to ensure the capacity of the organisation is built in the long term. I cannot recommend her enough."
